BIO
Ethan Kaczowka grew up in rural Townsend, Massachusetts and was fortunate to grow up in a musical household. He was encouraged to take up classical piano at age 11, and was immersed early on in sounds of jazz and fusion.
However, it wasn't until more than a decade later that Ethan discovered his affinity for playing jazz guitar, and he has been playing actively ever since. Ethan has performed in countless venues in and around Boston and has been hired as a sideman for everything from playing guitar for a Herb Albert tribute band to playing bass for a community chorus.
Although Ethan is graduating Berklee College of Music this year, where he studied with great musicians like Jon Damian, Steve Kirby, Ed Lucie and Richie Hart, Ethan is continuing his own education by periodically traveling to New York to study with jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein. For the last two years Ethan has led student jazz ensembles, as well as private lessons. Following in the tradition of those he learned from, his teaching style emphasizes a strong ear as the center point from which all other skills grow.
