Thanks to funding from the Arlington Cultural Council, this all-ages concert will be free and open to the public.
I'll be hosting the event, and briefly discuss and contextualize the music before each song, so this will be an educational event as well as entertainment. A personal side note -though I'm no expert on Brazilian music, I have been seriously studying it the last couple years, as I've been taken by it's rhythmic groove and harmonic beauty, among other things. The range of the music of this large and diverse country is difficult to cover in a couple hours, but that won't stop us from doing some exploring. More importantly, it won't stop me from sharing a little bit of the love I have for this music.
Marcella Camargo- vocals
Rich Greenblatt- vibraphone
Ethan K- guitar
Derek Van Wormer- bass
Pat Gaulin- drums
The event was moved to the Arlington Senior Center, but the space is top-notch, this should be a good time, and a lot different than most gigs I've played in retirement homes :)
